BoomPS Updates - Dynamic Drop Rate Bonuses, Experience Mode Changes, Bug Fixes & More!

Dynamic Drop Rate Bonuses

A new system has been introduced that allows drop rates for unique items to be adjusted dynamically based on a set of criteria:

  • Rare drop scrolls remain unchanged, continuing to boost a player's drop rate bonus by 15%.

  • Donator ranks now influence drop rate bonuses — the specific rates for each rank can be found in the Donator Benefits post on the forums.

  • Experience Modes now contribute to drop rate bonuses, with Hard Mode granting a 5% increase and Realism granting a 10% increase.

  • The Bestiary will now display the updated drop rates based on what your boosts are automatically!

A new section has been added to the Quest Tab displaying your current unique drop rate bonus at a glance.

Admins are now able to dynamically boost unique drop rates via a command, which will broadcast a server-wide notification to all players — similar to the existing boost announcements for custom drop systems like Raids. This previously required manual handling.

General Adjustments

  • The Party Room has received a new Staff-only toggle for the Balloon Bonanza lever, allowing staff to set up events without the lever being pulled prematurely.

  • Account creation now correctly displays the player's username, an interface bug has been resolved, and drop rate bonus information for each experience mode has been added to the relevant screen.

  • All clue scroll types can now be handed over to Watson at once rather than one at a time.

Bug Fixes

  • An issue has been fixed where certain instances were not clearing previously built maps, which was likely the root cause of Chambers of Xeric and Theatre of Blood loading into void maps after extended periods of uptime.

  • A potential memory leak caused by lingering player references has been addressed, which should improve server stability over long sessions.

  • A periodic region cleanup routine has been implemented to help maintain server stability over time.

  • Fixed a bug where pets inside a POH menagerie had a chance to be duplicated when removed.

  • A tick delay has been added between balloon pops in the Party Room.

  • Chief Servant now references the correct NPC ID.

  • Fixed the Singing Bowl interface close button not functioning.

  • Fixed the Blood Ancient Sceptre not working correctly.

  • Fixed the Al-Kharid agility course incorrectly awarding two laps worth of progress per lap.

  • Tabs 6 and 7 in the Slayer interface now correctly unblock the selected task.
